The link is a mechanical component of the manipulator; it connects the boom (jib) head with the attachment (most often a rotator). It is fastened via axes turned 90 degrees relative to each other. It may have stops that limit the movement of the attachment. It can also be equipped with a damper (a vibration-damping system). The damper is especially relevant in logging operations due to the great length of the handled material (assortments of six to eight meters and tree lengths).
The link is used as a connecting element between the manipulator boom and the rotator.
