ERTALYTE (Ertalyte)
a multifunctional semi-crystalline polymer for structural and anti-friction applications. It has the following performance properties: high mechanical strength, dimensional stability under the influence of temperature and humidity, compressive strength even at low temperatures, a combination of toughness and hardness, low thermal expansion, very good resistance to crack formation, low water absorption, low coefficient of friction, excellent wear resistance and optimal insulating properties. High creep resistance and a consistently low friction/sliding coefficient make Ertalyte an excellent material for manufacturing parts where wear resistance and durability are important (guides, bushings, bearings, rollers, etc.).
Ertalyte – is a polymer material well known in engineering due to its low coefficient of friction. Ertalyte, which is likewise polyamide 6, is a fairly strong and environmentally clean material that is also corrosion-resistant. It has a sanitary-epidemiological certificate for contact with food products.
Polyamide 6 is used to manufacture parts for anti-friction as well as structural applications:
- rings;
- bushings;
- valves;
- bearings;
- flanges.

Physical and chemical properties of Ertalyte
Ertalyte is highly resistant to oils, alcohols, hydrocarbons, ethers and alkalis, as well as weak acids. It is soluble in phenol, cresol, concentrated inorganic acid, acetic and formic acids, in chlorinated and fluorinated alcohol and in ketone. Parts made of Ertalyte have such excellent properties as absorption of shock loads and a fairly low coefficient of friction; in addition, they can operate without lubrication in friction zones. At the same time, Ertalyte is an excellent dielectric in terms of thermal and mechanical stability. In these qualities it surpasses such insulators as polyvinyl chloride, polystyrene and others. Another important point is that it can be quite easily machined by milling, drilling, turning and grinding.
