The mulcher-shredder with fixed flails is used as the basic working unit at forestry enterprises. The mechanical mulcher makes it possible to carry out work on sites with uneven ground, and paired with a swamp modification of the base power unit it is also able to work in waterlogged areas.
FERRI mulchers are sold with an integral part – a push frame, which is designed to bend vegetation forward in the direction of the tractor’s movement, and also provides additional safety against a tree falling onto the tractor cab.
The mulcher can be purchased with two types of push frames – mechanical and hydraulic.
DT series mulchers are able to penetrate the soil to a depth of up to 5 cm (variable, due to ground unevenness). It should be especially noted that no mulcher is able to work below ground level with constant penetration — that is the prerogative of a rotavator. The working width of the mulcher is measured along the inner side of the skids and makes it possible to optimally match the mulcher to the required tractor.
