Skidding Grapple S-1500 STZ (Ukraine)

The S-1500 grapple skidding attachment is suitable for tractors of domestic and foreign manufacture and is an inexpensive, high-quality newcomer to the Ukrainian market. It is aggregated with class 1.4 — 2 tractors (MTZ-80/82, YuMZ, T-40, etc.).
The grapple is made of high-quality structural steel grade 09G2S (GOST 19281-73).

Advantages over the cable method:

• no chokers – you can now hook a tree without leaving the tractor. There is no longer any need to get out of the tractor for each tree, pull out the cable, slide the choker underneath, return to the tractor, wind up the drum, and after arrival get out of the tractor again to unhook the tree;

• more than half of the trunk remains clean during skidding;

• productivity is 3-4 times higher;

• the grapple design is intended for long-term and trouble-free operation. The units and assemblies are designed for harsh operating conditions. A hydraulic lock is installed to prevent the jaws from opening on their own.

Advantages over a simple skidding device (of the «KRAB» type):

• the design of the S-1500 grapple allows it to rotate left/right by 90 degrees.

• the tractor’s maneuverability is significantly increased on rough terrain and in hard-to-reach conditions;

• the number of operations performed by the tractor driver is reduced;

• low fuel consumption;

• reduced wear on the tractor wheels.
